    Check for open circuit in coolant temp sensor circuit. Open usually reads -40 degrees, which in newer stuff the computer recognizes that’s not a likely situation so it plugs in a default temp and turns on the light. In older systems it would add fuel for 40 below and if it didn’t flood out, it would run extremely rich and misfire badly. Pull the codes.
