    May not be a scam, or it may be a scam. If the money really did go into your account, it is yours, and they can’t take it back. However, just because you have an email or a text confirmation that says the money is in your account doesn’t mean it is. So you need to log into your bank account and make sure the money is there, AND NOT FROM A LINK THEY SEND YOU OR CONFIRMATION EMAIL YOU GOT.

    Just about any online payment method can be spoofed. They will say they’re sending you the money, you will get a confirmation email or a text that says you’ve got money. And that confirmation can be fake. And never click on the link in a confirmation that says view your money and sign in. Because the link they send you can be a fake web page that looks exactly like your bank.

    So always open up your bank app or go directly to your bank website login and check it that way.
