Can I add more K-Seal, and why did steering get stiff?

2012 POS Dodge journey 196xxx miles.

So, I have a blown head gasket, we “fixed” it with K-Seal. Yes, I am aware it’s only a bandaid and may not even work. But from my mechanic, it’s a small leak.

Anyways! I’ve been mostly driving short distances. Today I decided to test it a bit more. And drove about 50 mins to a tennis match for my daughter.

Highest temp I got was 215. Had about an hour of cool down time before heading home. It started getting hotter. And my steering wheel got stiff like my power steering went out. But then went away. My temp got up to 255 but went back down.

I will be checking my coolant when it cools down completely. Can I put another bottle of K-Seal in? And why did my steering wheel get stiff?

PS. to add, I was pretty low on coolant, despite making sure I was full before leaving.

Get a second opinion regarding the head gasket before considering putting another bottle of that stuff in. Possibilities of stiff steering could be serpentine belt slipping from fluid saturation (like a leaking water pump), failing p/s pump, low p/s fluid, low battery voltage.

Does the water pump run off the drive belt on those?

Water pump could be seizing due to that crap in the cooling system, causing the drive belt to slip.

Yes, throw another 3 bottles of sealer into it instead of having it repaired, engine work will be much cheaper a after the last bottle.

Do not use more sealant than the directions call for. You risk blocking the coolant or oil passages in the engine, which would be very bad.

You can check for exhaust gasses in the coolant with a rubber glove and a rubber band or hair tie. do not add more sealer.
