Hey guys, help me make a decision.
2014 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T. 115,000 miles. Needs approx $2,215.20 worth of work done. That would be to R&R the thermostat housing assembly and thermostat, purge valve assembly, and valve cover assembly. Has oil leak and coolant leak.
Owe nothing on the car.
Hoping to be buying a house within the next year which is what makes this decision so difficult.
So, do I pay it and hope for the best, or put $15k down and finance a small amount for a minivan (have 4 kids, have a Pathfinder that works for the kids so having the sedan isn’t a big burden).?
Let me know if y’all need any more information. Thanks in advance!
JonasIf you are willing to learn something and get your hands dirty that’s all pretty minor. Couple hundred bucks and one afternoon.
DanDump it, it’s got bottom end damage already.
JayvonI would get a second opinion for another estimate, but otherwise I’d fix it.
I’m also the type of person to buy my own parts and have my mechanic do the work and save a good bit, but if you don’t have a mechanic you trust then you’re kinda just gonna have to rely on the shop.
MichaelBetter not to have a vehicle payment knocks $$ available home finance calculations, get house then buy a car later.
