Ever tried renting out your car on Turo while waiting for it to sell? Just curious—does it actually help cover costs or is it more hassle than it’s worth? I’m kinda stuck and could use some real-talk advice. If you’ve been in this boat, did it work out or backfire? Thinking about listing mine but not sure if it’s smart or sketchy. Drop your experience or any tips—honestly, I’ll take all the help I can get!
JohnThey can’t be salvaged or rebuilt titles, correct.
GabrielHow? I’m not going to let someone drive my cars with dealer tags.
AlexeiI have 40 cars on Turo 2-10K price range, they have made me way more money than flipping them. They pay themselves off in 6–8 months. Average about $1K on recon.
BrianYes, I have, and they ran the hell out of it and went over on the mileage both times. And Turo allows you 200 miles a day! I got extra money because they went over on the mileage, but it needed an oil change after two rentals!
ThomasHow you gonna handle registration!? Regular insurance is fine – while active Turo use, then it covered by Turo insurance. Oldest one is 2021 Malibu, others less than 3 years new vehicles. Turo depends on location mostly, tourist destinations get way more busy times.
JosephI tried it, you rent your car to be driven 200 miles for about 30 dollars.
