Good morning! Daughter is in need of a car. And She’s looking at a 2013 Volkswagen Passat TDI SE 4dr Sedan 6A w/ Sunroof.
$6,998, Mileage 133,095.
Feedback would be appreciated! Thank you!
JaimeIf you enjoy large repair bills, it’s perfect.
DavidLook for a Toyota, Honda, or Mazda. Much more reliable. Don’t even consider Hyundai or Kia.
InfinitiEuropean car over seven years old is expired like milk.
ChaneeIf you like check engine lights and expensive repair bills, it’s the perfect car. I’ve owned over 20 VW’s over the years, and anything built after 1999 is junk. I quit buying them and started buying Subaru’s. Much more reliable and you can’t beat the AWD in the snow and rain.
KrisI think a lot of people see VW and just start going into the autonomous “Toyota, Honda. Toyota, Honda. Toy-“. VW TDIs are pretty good. If it has good maintenance records and maybe a negotiable price, go for it.
SamIt’s a diesel so it’s much better than others. The tdi of that era is pretty stout, and if you can get maintenance records even better. The mileage isn’t hateful either.
JustinI personally have a 2012 TDI, I’ve had it now for nearly 2 years, got it at like 110k, and it’s currently got 135k. No real issues with it except the oil cooler needed to be replaced, and the timing belt was due.
If you can get maintenance records showing they’ve been done, then you shouldn’t have any issues.
Also, make sure the DSG services have been done.
NealOffer them 6000, the vehicle itself is reliable, and doesn’t need repairs that often if proper maintenance is done. I had one till last November same car finished with 320000 on it.
