Really boring topic, sorry….our spare car key hasn’t worked since I replaced the battery in it. Now I know this happens a lot, and you have to do it quickly if you change it yourself. I followed all the advice but hey ho here we are.
Does anyone know of a way to sort it without me having a heart attack at the Mazda garage?
It’s a 2017 Mazda, we have had it 2 years.
Any actual experience with this welcome! Thanks!
VikkiJust be careful you haven’t broken the motherboard. I took mine to Timpson, and they broke it, they had to replace the whole key.
VikkiHave you got the battery in the right way? I bought 3 new batteries before I realised they were the wrong way round. Worth a look.
CherylMy garage changed mine for me, the cost of the battery was under a fiver. They didn’t charge me to fit it, and rightly so.
ChrisI found cheap batteries were not good replacements (we have had 4 Mazdas)
GeorginaDefinitely check if the battery is the right way round. This happened to me.
StevenTry to Google sometimes you need to pair the key to the car, otherwise speak to an auto locksmith most are mobile, I know there is one in accrington.
KateHave you tried programming it? I did it myself watching YouTube to save taking it to garage
