Hello everyone, I have a question I have a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire it is my daughter’s car we got it for her first vehicle, and she has not been able to drive it because it will not start it ran fine before, but the issue is the battery went dead and me and my son were going to go out there and jump it off with my car I hooked the jumper cables up in my car correctly, but my 15-year-old son swore he knew what he was doing and accidentally reversed the hookups on my daughter’s car he said there was a little bit of smoke coming from the front of the engine and as soon as I turned around and saw it I ran over and took the jumper cables off now the car just sits there and turns over but will not start someone please help me thank you and God bless
TravisYes, check all your fuses and wires for the ignition system. If possible, get it scanned for codes. I hate to say this part but what happens a lot of times is the PCM or ecu if not both will get taken out. Hopefully a fuse or wire got burnt.
When I say check the wires, I mean check good like behind your fuse panel, especially the wires leading to any fuses or ignition components.
If you can get it scanned and get us the codes, we can narrow down your search area.
Good luck man.
I’ll try and keep checking back, but you can feel free to msg me directly.
BobTry spraying starter fluid in the throttle body.
RyanCheck fuses like ignition fuse or PCM.
