Hi guys. I got a flat tire while driving on the highway, and my rim really scraped the road. Do I need to replace it? Or will it be ok to keep as is?
JimmiIDK it looks pretty hit, I’d take in to someone that can take off the tire and look at the inside of the rim.
ChuckIt looks pretty superficial, but like others have said, someone will need to pull the tire off and inspect the beat lip of the wheel to be sure.
JoshThat’s fine, it’s just scratched up.
JamesWhen you go for a new tyre, you’ll find out if it’ll seal and how bad it looks with the tyre off.
Al BorlandIf you drove on the flat, there’s a decent chance it’s chewed up inside. That rim looks fine if it’s holding air. They can crack, though, so at least look at it closer. It’s probably fine and just cosmetic.
JohnI’m assuming that the tire is pretty much finished, whoever is changing the tire is probably the best person to ask.
CopacabanaNicked it pretty good there… ugly ASF, but you can still use it.
MartinThat is from hitting the curb, not from getting a flat. Damage is superficial. Remove tyre and repair with metal filler, paint it and good as new. From the rest of the wheel, it looks like scraping the curb is hobby of yours.
