Wheels are balanced and no bends, but I have a slight vibration in the front left that’s inconsistent, it’ll vibrate a good amount then a few hours later it’s fine, and it kinda repeats that. And between 60and63 it has a slight roaring/humming noise I suspect it may be a wheel bearing, but I’ve checked them all and no play whatsoever
Any idea what could be causing the vibration and humming?
JustinHow do you know it’s the left front wheel vibrating at 60 mph? Intermittent and un repeatedly? Sure. The internet can diagnose that in a minute.
BrianRun the car with all 4 wheels off the ground, listen with a stethoscope to the wheel bearings. See if any are making noise.
A bad tire or slightly bent rim is probably more likely to cause your symptoms than a wheel bearing. Rotate the tires front to back and see if it changes. If it does, that’s your problem.
SteveJack it up with no wheels, you should feel the bad one grind a bit.
DanielSeen a comment where you said they are new wheels. Are they aftermarket or factory? If they’re aftermarket I’m willing to bet you need hub rings because the center bore on the new wheel is bigger than what the car needs. It causes the wheel to solely ride on the lug instead of the center bore of the spindle. Which results in exactly what you’re complaining about.
