I am having rear axleshaft issues on my 05 Dodge Ram 1500. On the rear driver side, the axle seal and bearing will not remain in place after I installed them. Inside the axle tubes, a piece where the bearing seats is chipped. Any recommendations?

Find a good used rear end.

This is a joke, right? You’re going to need a lathe to fix that, scrap it and get a new axle.

This looks like a troll post. Nothing is usable in those pics. Trash and buy a rear differential.

Take a center punch and punch the area where the outside of the bearing seats in the axle tube in multiple places, and get some loctite sleeve retainer, clean it good install bearing, let it dry probably 24hrs and reassemble. Good luck

This is what happens when you hear noises from your truck and up volume on your radio.

Looks like it’s pretty far gone! Should’ve pulled over sooner. Replace the rear.

All trashed so find a good used one from a wrecking yard. You sure drove with noise for a long time to wipe the housing out~!

Looks like no oil in diff caused problem(s)
                            It’s dry
Axel is pooched, housing as well
Look for a used rear end
And pays to check fluid level as well. They used to check when did lube and oils but thing s get overlooked now

What do the splines on the end of the axle look like now ? At this point, axle and housing are in pretty rough shape.

Yeah. These were junk from new. We had a couple in our fleet and both failed the Diff challenge. Salvage yard or remanufactured or different truck.

What are you hauling? Ant diff that uses the axle as an inner bearing race is not meant to haul much weight.
