Stuck deciding between the Kia Forte, Honda Fit, or Ford Edge? Yeah, it’s a tough call. Each one’s got its own vibe—compact and zippy, practical and peppy, or bigger with more muscle. But when it comes to dependability, who really brings the heat long-term? Are you better off with Honda’s track record, Ford’s SUV power, or Kia’s newer rep for quality? What’s the move if you want less drama and more smooth sailing?

        Honda fit 100%.

A Forte is almost never the answer.

The Fit is great all around. Very versatile.

The Edge may be cheaper, though. If you get a non-2.0 turbo Edge, you’ll be fine. The 3.5 is fine. I like the early 2010s ones the most.

It all depends on the condition of the car, one might be considered more reliable but if it has problems it doesn’t matter if the brand is reliable.

FIT! Ford has active fuel management, which is an engine killer. Kia, well, the name says it all, but it has a turbo and a crrappy engine. The Honda Fit has no turbo and a 1.7 engine which is reliable. The same engine as my Honda Civics that I’ve run up to 400k.

Honda… I wouldn’t buy another ford if you gave me 0 apr for the duration of the loan because I am sure that after a while the engine, transmission or both will be a problem

The Fit. I wish there was a way to recommend the others less. All fords, even the best ones, are hot garbage. That’s why they painted their motors’ dumpster blue for years. After they quit painting them is when they got really trash. Most Kia’s from about 00-2011 were almost as good as Honda and Toyota. Run Far, far away from any 2011 and newer Kia/Hyundai with a 4 cylinder. They burn oil. And fail.

You can’t do worse than the Forte or Edge. Rarely can do better than a 2nd Gen Fit especially manual.
