2000 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3l v8 — What would cause a P0420 and P0430 code at same time after changing out my PCV Valve I originally had a code for a bad PCV Valve changed that out fixed the code about 50 miles I get a check engine light on for the P0420 and P0430 codes never had these codes before until changing my PCV Valve I’ll erase codes, but they come back once engine is warmed up to temperature truck idles slightly rough in gear and when parked idles in and out slightly need help notice somewhat loss of power around 40-45 mph then gain power back and is fine.
SeanJust bad luck. You can start with replacing all of the 02 sensors but in the end, high probability you will need two cats.
KaiBefore, the PCV system was not letting crankcase fumes into the intake.
Now it is, as designed. Unfortunately, that’s overwhelming borderline catalytic converters.
KirkCatalytic converters starting to go.
JordanWhat code did it have that was a PCV valve code? The only one I know of is a p052e… and I’ve never seen it actually get set in a vehicle.
