      2012 Acura TSX 4 cyl. 217,xxx miles.

This is really starting to puzzle me. Both catalytic converters were replaced yesterday, oxygen sensors as well, and the Mass Airflow Sensor. I have gone through six O2 Sensors since November, and the car has had two tune ups in less than a year because it keeps burning out spark plugs. I’m trying to get to the root cause. A friend said he thinks it’s the fuel regulator. Interested to see other thoughts before I pursue something.

PS: I live in an area requiring emissions, so straight piping isn’t an option.

Aftermarket or factory cats? Aftermarket’s aren’t the best and codes can come on for new aftermarket cats.

You need a live data diagnostic tool, any will do as long as it shows O2 sensor readings. It’s easy to learn how to understand it.

Let me guess… You got the cheapest cats around installed at Jim’s/Jose’s exhaust palace.

A number of issues can cause this, but if you’re burning plugs it generally means you have a lean condition which will torch your cats and O2s as well. Detonation and knock would have to be audible, so check your timing and fuel trim.

Should also check for exhaust leaks before/slightly after the oxygen sensors.

If you didn’t use Denso O2 sensors and Honda cats, then that light is not going away. Been there. Done that. Too many times.

Besides parts, what are you able to do, to actually diagnose it? Do you have a scanner with full engine data list (live data stream) and bi-directional capabilities?

You need oe cats, man. Amazon or eBay trash always does this.

After 2005 the cats and O2 have to be OEM replacement, so if you did not use OEM parts then that’s your problem. You can also check a see if you have the correct voltage and ground going to the O2 sensors.
