So, I had a shop replace the carrier bearing and rotated my tired due to one being cupped real bad, rode decent for an hour drive, still had a vibration in the rear end due to the cupping, but now my truck starts shaking violently at 15mph started on my way home from work it’s a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Pro 4x with the 5.0 cummins currently not drivable in my opinion already ruled out the tire put the spare on still doing same thing 15mph+ is unbearable.
StacyDid the carrier bearing bolts come loose? Sounds like something is way out of balance now. Or maybe loose lug nuts?
KeithSound like they put driveshaft In out of phase or the bolts are coming loose doo good visual inspection first!
JoeJack up the rear run the truck look at the tires 15 mph ID start looking at tires.
JohnDid they line the drive shaft up correctly? Check the shaft to see if it’s straight.
BrianInstead of telling someone WHAT to fix, let them tell you what NEEDS to be fixed.
GaryWhat does cupped tires have to do with a drive shaft?
If you didn’t fix what was causing a cupped tire, rotating your tires just moved the already bad tire to a new location, and now it’s working on a new tire.
Find what is causing the cupping tire problem and fix your problem.
RobertTake the drive shaft out, lay it on a flat surface check make sure all ujoints are all aligned up if they had to separate the drive shaft they apparently smart enough to mark it how it came apart so they didn’t get drive shaft put back together. I’m assuming you didn’t have this problem until they touched it.
JohnWould have done the complete shaft.
Sounds like either they did not install correctly or one of the joints is bad.
KaiEither they put something back wrong (like not seating a snap-ring in a U Joint), or something failed catastrophically (Chinese counterfeit parts).
Either way, have them pick it up and fix it right.
Now, on the other hand, if you bought a part on Amazon or Temu, and handed it to the shop, that’s on you.
