I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 truck, was working perfectly fine this morning. I go to turn it on and there’s no crank there’s power but no crank, I look on the dash and there’s a car symbol with a lock.
I tried to turning the ignition on and waiting 10 minutes for the light to turn off like how it said on Google on YouTube, but nothing happened.
I tried it multiple times.
I was also told it could be the body module control anyone know.
JonStart with the simplest, easiest thing first… get a new key from a trusted locksmith or GM dealer. Walmart & Hardware store keys are a crap shoot, most are Cheeneese junk.
Once you have a new key, do the 10 minute relearn 3 times… when the theft light goes out, turn the key off for 5 seconds then ‘ON’ for another 10 minutes.- 3 times, you should be ready to go.
If that fails, it’ll be the tiny wires leading to the ignition lock cylinder. Replace the lock cylinder. Your locksmith can code it to match your original key.
MarcusCheck grounds on driver side block!
You also can take the starter relay out and short 30 and 87, and I bet she will start!
JosephIf you have a fob, change the battery. I had a similar issue with my 11 Buick. I changed fob battery issue gone.
JB BarbourLock driver’s door manually and close it. Then unlock it with your key. Not the fob.
