My 2006 Ford F-250 is OCCASIONALLY shaking very violently, mostly while braking. I just replaced all rotors and pads to no avail. I’m lost on this one, guys.
NicoleIs it usually when warm? Could be warped rotors. Some pads are too hard and can warp new rotors too, if not compatible.
TylerI would recommend doing a tire rotation to start, you can tell if you got a bad tire if the shake moves or minimizes. While it’s lifted up you can check for play in the suspension and recheck the brake installation.
If it’s braking shake, shaking in the steering wheel is the front set or in the seat it’s the rear set.
Go over all front suspension components, but I put money on a hub or wheel bearing.
BrianI think it’s really important to determine exactly when it happens when you’re NOT braking. If it actually ONLY happens when braking, it makes diagnosis easier. If sometimes yes, sometimes no…that’s too vague for us to help you narrow it down.
ChadwickReally need to check the front end out really good and possibly an alignment. Sometimes it’s just as simple as the steering damper cylinder. Ford’s love a good death wobble, it can be tricky to find.
TimBall joints, CV joints, maybe upper and lower control arms.
