I just received an offer from a guy that wants to Venmo me so he can put the purchase on his credit card. I’ve never taken a Venmo payment like that. Could this be a scam? Thank you
SyedProblem is with credit card they can always charge back. Cash is king. Don’t do no credit card.
WilliamDon’t do it unless your authorized dealer so he can swipe in person and sign transaction paper along with copy of his license bill of sale etc. Other wise he can charge it back real fast!
EricOpen a PayPal but unless you’re a dealer I wouldn’t take a card
MattVenmo is near impossible to cancel or reverse a charge. So you should be fine.
MattIf you have the money in your account during transaction do it. Venmo you can’t reverse payments.
EthanMost credit cards, you can’t attach to Venmo.
I’d only take Zelle as a form of payment or wire. Cash is king also. If he has the credit card, he can always get cash back too. Be leery.
OlaTake it in person,
Send him a request so he pays it.
Match is Venmo profile with his ID
If possible give him a of sale and place his ID on the bill and take a picture.TeegenPayPal friends and family. Match the PayPal name to government name via drivers license.
