I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler, and I have replaced the front brakes every like 3–6 months. I drive it occasionally, and yet the brakes are sticking, brake dust all over my one tire. Then causing them to be replaced again and again. Can anyone tell me what is wrong, potentially wrong with it? I’m getting tired of getting my front brakes replaced constantly. Thanks!
CashBrake hose, very common on the JK
MattEither have a stuck piston in the calliper or the slide pins are stuck. Could also be a collapsed hose or kinked line.
BrianBrake calipers and/or brake hoses.
KenCould be anything. Start with the slide pins/bolts. Then see if the piston retracts. If not, it’s probably the brake hose.
JosephGenerally speaking, and even moreso with Jeep products, when there is a problem in a caliper, the brake lines going to that caliper should be examined and checked to make sure they are not occluded, linked or possibly installed improperly (it’s easy for a shop to give those jobs to an unqualified tech who doesn’t reroute the line properly when they reinstall the new calipers.
Additionally, the slide pins should be examined, cleaned and properly lubricated. Many techs put too much grease in the caliper holes, which causes the pins to be unable to slide fully.
I would start by examining everything, then uninstalling the brake pads, rotors, calipers and check/flush the brake lines.
I would also be sure to bleed the ABS in case that was missed when they reinstalled the new caliper.
There is a procedure for each vehicle, and it requires a computer to complete that process.
Good luck!

Replace the hoses, get good quality hoses if you can.
If It’s going to sit for long periods, shit is going to fail. You’re doomed, it wears out if you drive it, seizes and rots if you don’t.
If you would disassemble one of these “bad” calipers you might be shocked just how much crud/rot is on the inside. After market calipers are garbage and will rust and rot from the inside.
WillisIt’s a bad caliper. The piston is known to seize on and when u push it back it moves as it should. Replace the caliper and bleed the brakes properly. You’re welcome.
