Not sure if this is the right forum for opinions, do you guys think this can be fixed or has to be replaced? A rock hit my windshield while I was on the highway and one shop says they can fix it, the other says it’s too long.
2021 Nissan Altima.
LouisUnless it’s in your line of view and your state doesn’t require you to fix it, you can leave it. Windshield glass is 2 layers with a laminated layer in-between so you will not have a leak.
Also, some insurance companies have glass replacement with a small deductible with full coverage.
Check and see if your insurance policy has it.
RickityStay away from the shop that said they could fix that.
JohnLol there’s a shop that said they can fix that? Run far away from that place

MelanieAt that length, and considering it is on the driver side, you will need to replace the windshield.
GaryNo fix, its not a small chip.
MarkWorth going on Yelp and getting quotes. I was in the same position last year. I ended up going with a guy who is mobile, professional, and his price was about $150 than what others were quoting me. You’ll be surprised what you learn during this search. Now I have my go to person if I ever need a windshield replaced again.
About insurance, yes, I was floored what I learned from them. I have to is the first $500, they will cover the remaining portion. GEICO. And we pay a monthly payment for them, for what?
