Ever bought from ACV, Openlane, or IAAI? What’s the real deal—are they worth it or just hype? I’m diving into the auction game and wanna hear from folks who’ve been there, done that. What’s your game plan, any red flags to watch for, or golden tips you swear by? Share your wins, horror stories, or anything in between. Let’s swap notes—what’s your secret sauce when it comes to bidding smart and making it work?

ACV and Openlane are pretty much where we are getting most of our inventory now. The arbitration from ACV sucks, though, so keep that in mind.

ACV and open lane seems to be where the larger dealers are just selling their junk.

ACV mightbas well be called buyer beware. Their arbitration pricess has loop holes for thr loop holes to not get a claim handled. Street purchases… Manheim are better, but the whole industry isn’t what it used to be. Jmo

IAAI is not for the faint of heart. I’d highly suggest working on private local auctions first before jumping into insurance auctions.

80-90 percent of vehicles at any auction is junk or has issues, that’s why they’re at the auction.

ACV and in person auctions are where I get mine, I like ACV for retail units bc they go further in detail than I can go in lane, just read the rules of arbs before hand

IAAI you have to have experience. Bid 1500 after fees like 2300 before any fixes.

We have had decent results with ADESA clear and EBlock.

Just like in person, the BHPH dealers will run you up to retail on some of them. OPENLANE is easiest to use. ACV is ok, but I haven’t had great luck with them. Inspections are iffy on both, depends on who’s inspecting it. Expect undisclosed issues. I never buy red light in ACV, they’re usually losers. ACV doesn’t test drive OPENLANE does.

ACV arb is ass, and you have to fight with them.

Bought a fucked up m5 once, the arb process went on longer 30 days, and never received the title and took that route, and got out of the car. ACV didn’t even have the title within 30 days.
