I have a Honda Accord LX-P 2012… So my car is stuck in limp mode, and doesn’t accelerate when I step on the gas it will only go 20 mph and when I lightly step on the gas it will go between 30-40 mph.
Someone looked up the codes, and It said that I had to change the ignition coils on it, and so I did, but that didn’t change the accelerating issue, then he assumed that it could be the MAF sensor, because he pulled it out and said that my car was supposed to start stalling, but it didn’t, so we changed that, but my car is still not accelerating.
I also changed the alternator recently. Someone who had the car before me, turned off the engine bulb light, so I’m assuming it could be related to that, but I’m not sure.
Someone else also left a note that said “Overheating fuses” in the car manual, and I think it still might be having the same issue because several times already when I tried to jump start my car properly in the past, it burned through the jumper cables and started smoking like it was about to catch on fire.
I’m thinking about selling my car because I don’t have money to constantly be putting into it, but I was hoping that someone could give me an idea what’s wrong with it, or what else I could try to fix, or change to see if it will drive regularly again.
Thank you in advance!
HeathIf you unplug the MAF, the engine will use the map sensor instead, so you just verified that the map sensor is working fine, and probably didn’t need to replace the MAF.
If it’s in limp mode, you should be able to see what the critical condition is on a real scanner.
We need to know what that is. It’s likely a transmission fault, tbh.
Overheating fuses can be many things, but I don’t doubt that fuse panel needs to be repaired now.
A very popular issue with Hondas is the ground cables, so those need to be checked.
It sounds like there’s probably an issue. Either way, we need all the actual codes and conditions stored and present to move foreward.
AlecWho are you getting this information from? Clearly they are not a mechanic.
StacieI’m having the same problems with a Suburu. It is scary.
JustinWhy are there no current codes listed with that laundry list of parts that didn’t fix anything?
