Got a 2007 Ford Focus SES fiancé and my dad put a speaker in but only got as far as the wiring Saturday/Sunday. Today my fiancé couldn’t make it to work the car rpms jumped and wouldn’t go passed 20 mph like it wouldn’t shift, and it would just keep revving is how he explained it.
All I can think of is my dad was messing with the throttle under the hood and revved it far past what we normally would while just driving it.
Any ideas? Others have said vacuum leak or blown fuse it’s a 💩 box to add lol
RenatoI don’t know where you live but the fords here in Brazil, everthing goes through The dashboard, I once worked on a focus that wasn’t shifting gears, the problem was an aftermarket stereo player that the client installed, he messed with the wrong wires and the TCM entered in emergency Mode. (Sorry for bad English, I’m Brazilian huehue)
Frankieinstalling a speaker shouldn’t have anything to do with the running of ‘the engine, but something could accidently got moved ; I would check the area where the work was done, look for loose connectors/harness shifted.
JamesClearly your dad and fiancee didn’t have a clue what they were doing. Now, due to their ineptitude, you’re going to have to take it to someone who does know what they’re doing so they can fix their screw-up.
LenardYou’re probably going to wanna get someone who knows what they’re doing to look at it at this point should’ve taken a couple of hours tops to put in a speaker if they spent an entire weekend of what are we doing on it no telling what’s wrong.
